Interesting article though. It's the opposite view of the "elegant universe" where we're just incomprehensibly lucky, goldilocked, one among the infinite in some beautiful universe.

There's an almost gnostic coldness to the arbitrariness of us existing in some bizarre, anomalous tangled up mess of a simulation for some unknown reason.
