I don’t use the App Store often, but today I tried to search for a couple of apps that were mentioned in a series I am following “can it be done in react native”. On both occasions I search for the app name. The names are very unique and yet the App Store doesn’t return them anywhere near the top of the list, if at all.

Is this now typical of the app store? Why do they even bother having a search? This must be hurting discovery of new apps.

Can confirm. Everytime I open the appstore the first two searches will timeout for me. The third works. This has happened without fail for the whole summer for me.

I tried this search with the exact same string and the correct app was at the top of my results.

Maybe I am a canary for a new "feature"? I don't see how it could otherwise break for an individual.

The first app i searched for is shown as installed in the video, but I had the identical issue prior to installation.

I am in the LT store, not that it should make a difference.

Riveo is the first non-ad result for me if I search for 'Riveo'.
