SEEKING WORK | Fullstack Developer, automation, bots, mass scraping | REMOTE, France
I started teaching myself to code when I was 10yo, I've been specializing in automation and fullstack JS development since 2015.
I can basically automate or scrape anything you can think of on any device, I've worked as a fullstack & growth engineer for startups and scale ups.
I automated all kind of processes at most of my jobs, in my personal projects and in my personal life.
Worked on a few entrepreneurial projects(mostly MVPs that didn't take off :))
I work mostly with Typescript/Node/React(native), AWS Lambda, Firebase, Puppeteer/Playwright and my own private automation libraries.(also worked with a lot of other languages/technologies that aren't necessarily worth mentioning)
Please get in touch at: otmanebenazzou.pro [at] gmail (dot) com
An example project - prove that it's impossible to make a GPT agent that can do the following task:
Please make me a table of all quest diagnostics locations within 10 miles of [zip, city], as well as the yelp review scores for each location. Do it only via browsing, no APIs.
But the constraints:
No API usage (other than google search API), no hard coding of anything to do with quest diagnostics or yelp. Should be a general browser agent. Must have no errors in the result. Must complete the task within 10 minutes.
Inspiration:
* BabyAGI (seems to make progress, but doesn't finish the task within 30+ minutes, and partial progress shows the list of locations isn't quite right. Doesn't succeed with GPT-4 or GPT-3.5)
* Auto-GPT (doesn't succeed with GPT-4 or GPT-3.5 and doesn't seem promising)
* Amoni (fails with an error)
* A human doing it manually (flawless, does the whole thing in a few minutes)
But the steps the human takes to do it manually seem to be things that GPT should be able to figure out.
Your goal would be to prove that it's impossible (and hopefully to make it work in the process!).
1. Links to the 1-2 solo projects you've made that you refined the most over the longest time / most iterations
2. How would you approach proving whether it's currently impossible to make a version of BabyAGI that can succeed at the task mentioned?
Preferably, send these by June 3. But if it's past that time, please still send it in, as I'm hiring multiple freelancers on a rolling basis.
Send to clay@studionumberzero.com
No other info needed, and please be concise in your email.
If you already posted in this thread as a freelancer, please still reach out - I rely on people reaching out.
Other possible projects: more agent projects, using LLMs to identify and measure the spread of complex ideas online, tools and auto graded competitions to compare LLMs. If you're interested in one of those in particular, include a few bullet points of thoughts you have on them.
Communication style if we work together: no phone calls, mostly email for communications. Occasional Loom videos or Otter audio notes. Can do discord though email is easier.
> 2. How would you approach proving whether it's currently impossible to make a version of BabyAGI that can succeed at the task mentioned?
What do you mean by "proving"? Proving anything on the behaviour of a non trivial neural net is not a small endeavour, and that's assuming you have access to the weights.
Are you expecting for someone to test all the currently known tricks on a BabyAGI-like setup to know if that's enough to achieve your task? That's likely enough to tell you that it's not doable with a given budget, but that's not a proof.

SEEKING WORK | Berlin, Germany or remote (originally from NYC, can make trips to US east coast)
Full stack Ruby and Javascript/Typescript developer with experience as a lead dev, as well as a teacher/mentor. I believe in writing clear, readable, simple code and refactoring for performance as necessary. I'm good at communicating with other stakeholders, including non-technical execs/managers, thinking about the business problem and advocating for the user. I'm a big time pragmatist.
I have experience working with startups, big businesses (e.g. New York Times and Cleversafe - $1B onsite file storage service acquired by IBM) and small businesses. Other examples of clients I've worked for include a large European travel booking company, a developer tools company, a B2B fashion supply chain management company and on a one-off art installation project for Davos.
Long time Rails dev (since Rails 2), more recently I've worked with Node.js/Express, React and Golang as well. Occasional open source contributor (most recently to DefinitelyTyped and KillBill a popular Ruby billing & payment platform). Not dev-ops per say but I have experience managing deployments with AWS and Digital Ocean as well as writing IaC in Terraform.
A goal-oriented and self-driven technologist who is passionate about solving challenging problems and always looking out for ways to bridge the gap between humans and technology. I believe that my success is highly dependent on the impact I make, and this inspires me to constantly learn new technologies and use them to make everyday life easier.
I have over 6 years of experience working as a data engineer building scalable data pipelines as per the client’s requirements. I also have experience building scalable API’s which can consume the data from data pipelines. Over this tenure I have worked across different domains which include Healthcare, Insurance, Pharma, Adtech, Search Engine, Supply chain etc.. I am always looking for new learning opportunities.
Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.
Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.
Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)
Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.
While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.
I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.
I am willing to consider a volunteer position if a visa can be arranged.
