YouTube channel terminated without prior warning or strikes, outrageous
Hello everyone, my YouTube channel has been terminated on 28th October 2021 for apparently violating policies regarding "spam, scams, and deceptive practices" Without prior warning or strikes. I would never do such things (not knowingly??). I appealed the decision right away but it got instantly rejected. Channel URL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJPx7hDl1Co4-GK4rnJr7nw

At first I thought it was an error, but the YouTube support and @TeamYouTube on Twitter were responding, that the channel was correctly being suspended. (Outrageous responds from yt-support and @TeamYouTube stating "the decision is final" I've done nothing THAT wrong!!!)

I thought, that there could also be the possibility of hacking on my channel. So I wrote this to @TeamYouTube on Twitter, and they send me a link to a form for the hijacking team. But after filling out and sending the form they responded, that they've found no evidence for hacking.

I'm still trying to figure out what actually happened and after long thinking a few things occurred to me. Here are the things I come up with:

- I've uploaded a few videos in 2019 about some Bitcoin faucets and games I've personally used as well. This was an experiment on how it would work making informational videos, I was very inexperienced in content creating and have probably made a few maybe terrible mistakes in either the videos or the descriptions. Every site I've shown in the videos were been researched on fairness and safety by myself before I've published the videos. - I've used an URL-shortener called ''MiniURL'' in the descriptions of each of those videos because I've seen others, who had done this as well. After research I discovered that it is against the YouTube Terms of Service. I'm so deeply sorry for that, I was unaware of that it is a violation.

Here are a few terrible mistakes regarding comments, I've probably made:

- I've posted comments on popular music videos back in 2019 (one comment per video), where I shared the "MiniURL"-link of one of the services mentioned above. I guess it was the "BTCspinner", but I'm not quite sure. I've posted it on about 5 or 6 music videos. I deeply regret this, it happened while I was in a mental crisis back then. Of course, this is no excuse for that. I've stopped this behavior after that. I also had the false belief that only multiple posts under one video would be considered spam.

I've appealed 3 times explaining those things I've done as broad and clear as possible but there are only 1000 characters allowed. All 3 appeals got rejected.

I've also wrote in the appeals, that I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I truly and deeply repent all those actions I've mentioned above and that it didn't happened intentionally. And that I furthermore will check with all Terms and Guidelines for every single action, to prevent further violations in the future.

I hope I haven't forgot something. I think that what I've done should be considered as "rehabilitative violations" (to give the user the ability to learn from their mistakes) and therefore warrant a lower penalty.

Spam is categorized as "severe abuse" but the word "abuse" implies intention, but I've NEVER done things deliberately. If there is in fact more on my channel, than I probably don't know about this. Unfortunately I can't investigate on my own channel after being permanently suspended. There could still be the possibility of "session hijacking", where a cyber criminal may unauthorized access an account without actual "hacking". Perhaps this could also be not showing up in the security tab under "your devices". What I know, is that most recent before I've been terminated I had my computer online for days and nights without turning it off. While my computer was on, I had a mobile connection attached to it via USB-tethering.

I really want my channel back. I hope desperately that there can be something done...

(Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Germany)

Ok so you’ve listed a bunch of violations you made, intentionally or unintentionally which explains the ban. That sucks, but it is what it is and there isn’t such thing as “I promise I won’t do it again”. Imagine enforcing that at YouTube’s scale - every single person would of course promise that.

As a side note, you need to calm down and clearly explain what your situation is. The current post you’ve made is absolute gigantic and full of irrelevant information. You need to be clear and most importantly concise. 1,000 characters should be more than enough to explain what’s happened and why you think it’s incorrect.

Why is it that every time one of these threads comes up it's a wall of text acting all innocent and trying to distract from the fact that they were promoting super sketchy Bitcoin gambling?

> a few videos in 2019 about some Bitcoin faucets and games

> I guess it was the "BTCspinner"

You didn't get banned for minifying a URL. You got banned for promoting predatory crypto gambling sites. And it was well deserved.

Have you even researched the "BTCspinner"? It ISN'T a gambling site! And also I would never promote "predatory" practices!

And only for your information, here is the link to the full post at the Google held forum: https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/141511392/youtube-...

To put it bluntly: Perhaps now is a good time to cut your losses. Find something else to invest your energy in.

That might sound harsh, but I believe it’s sound advice.

Best of luck!

Minified URLs are a cancer. I want to know what I'm clicking on.
