General solution to the problem:

Just call people what they want to be called. If they prefer something other than what you said, kindly oblige.

This is not a hard problem.

Perhaps because the correct racial terms were never their issue, and that's some white middle/upper middle class perople with too much time preoccupy themselves with?

School funding, jobs, healthcare and welfare, development programs, stop to police and especially court system racial prejudice and abuse, were more important...

Stupid article. African-American is the best term to use. How can you use the term 'Black' and then refer to someone who is the same color if not darker and call them Indian or Latino/Latinx/Hispanic.
