I honestly really wonder what is going on at Notion.

These guys have a gigantic growth of users. Every one is complaining that the tool is slow. They use the DNS of somalia even if they have the .com. They say everywhere that if you have issue receiving emails, just check the spam folder because sent from a ".so".

I mean guys, those two issues are the most import ones of your business, why that takes you so long to fix them ?

Well, they may not be using the .so domain for long. This outage seems to be because they're not eligble for .so and it's getting taken back.

That would be unusual. I've had a .so for 10 years and although they did change the rules a few years ago it's just more expensive for non residents.

Also notion could just establish a local office if it was really necessary.

It does not bode well when even the status page itself is down. I will be interested to hear how this outage occurred.

appears they had the kind of trouble that made them publicly reach out for support from Name.com and then delete their tweet.

On a side note my ISP blocked Notion a few weeks ago and I could not figure out why it was "down".

Apparently Cox didn't like that the .so domain is used for Somalia and they were getting Somalian email scams so they blocked Notion for it too? Was a little frustrating to lose all the docs for the company for a while.

Domain names are a underrated risk.

The likes of MarkMonitor and the safety of .com are well worth their price.

That's why I prefer to use .com/.net TLDs who are not associated with any country.

This is why offline mode is very important. But they prioritized API instead.

I think their tweet got posted here already. Some issues with DNS apparently.
