I was looking for a tool exactly like this not too long ago.

Some observations - clicking browser back button loses inputs - ukraine not available? - needs date/month selectors to plan ahead

awesome, i am happy that our tool will help you a little ;-)

thanks for an interesting observation with the back button, we will take a look at it.

i think there are still no flights to/from ukraine because of the war.

Nice and easy interface - I like it. User preferred Dates or month preference can make it more useful.

Also, "optimal location to meet your friends" is better use case than "meet your remote team".

Thank you for your feedback, we will consider adding preferred dates/month.

For a little more context, it's https://formcake.com it's basically a form SaaS tool / endpoint

i was hesitating to answer because i did not know what was the product - now i know.

it looks like a niche product for developer community. what i would try:

* write content around how to create web form in different language + add to each article reason why they should use your saas instead

* create a youtube video that would show how to use the product, focus on researched keywords, e.g. how to make a secured web form

* join slack and facebook group communities

* try to promote your tool on producthunt, not because of the sales - but to gather the feedback

* there are many great products out there and some of them have better product market fit + marketing = what i want to say it is more like a marathon than a sprint

good luck!

My side project is Kingpin browser: https://kingpinbrowser.com/

It is private browser for Mac and Windows. Paid for Mac users and Free for Win (Win version still has some bugs)

vladojsem commented on Ask HN: How do I come up with monetizable SaaS side project ideas?    · Posted by u/the_parzival
vladojsem · 4 years ago
1) do the proper research, there are plenty of articles talking about saas side project ideas, like this one https://www.blocshop.io/blog/15-saas-ideas/

2) check producthunt monthly winners, those are the apps that won during the voting https://www.producthunt.com/time-travel/2021/5

Congrats! You have made something of value that people appreciate. Getting the first paid user is usually the hardest.

I would not sell the project at this stage as you would sell it for not a big value. You would need a couple more paying users to prove your concept.

Once you have a few hundred paying users, you would see interesting data. Like how many months they keep paying? How many of them churn? How much can I afford to pay for acquiring a paying user?

vladojsem commented on Ask HN: Any tool to create diagram for data lineage and ETL rules?    · Posted by u/emaghsoudi

I am one of the makers of https://www.gleek.io What diagram do you need to create, ERD? If yes, we have those.

However, the app cannot do drill down yet (and don't know what app can do it).

vladojsem commented on Ask HN: Should one diversify their stock portfolio    · Posted by u/saching90

Depends on what you have in mind when you say diversification.

Easiest way to get started in other sectors is to google for stock analysis articles. They are written regularly for the major sectors and they will talk about the biggest/most interesting players, where they stand in the industry terms in recent developments, competitive advantages and risks.

With that said, dividing a portfolio across sectors isn't necessarily diversifying. Last year covid basically dragged the entire market down with it (and it's not exactly an anomaly for the entire market to swing in tandem). So if you're looking for resilience against that kind of risk you want to look into other investment vehicles (bonds, retirement funds, real estate, etc)

Or, if you're in the market for high risk asset types, but want things that do not track the stock market, you can consider looking into forex or cryptocurrencies (though beware, these are not for the faint of heart).

i would not call cryptocurrencies investing. and i would not recommend it to someone who is just starting / as the question suggest.
