In Texas you don't need reasons to fire someone.
snagglegaggle · 5 years ago
True but the list of reasons that allow you to fire someone without paying unemployment is limited.

They're trying to avoid paying out unemployment by saying he failed to show up for a shift but even sans-COVID firing after one absence is abnormal.

Testosterone has a lot of side effects people don't like: "male pattern baldness", hair growth pretty much everywhere else, acne, breast growth, changes in libido (either direction). Testosterone has been implicated in reduced longevity in men, too. As you note, it can have significant impact on emotional wellbeing, and that can also go either way.
snagglegaggle · 6 years ago
If anything those are good reasons to pursue increasing T levels without those side effects. This may be possible if the cause is environmental. The speed with which testosterone levels have been dropping in men seems to indicate it is not natural selection.

There are plenty of people who would trade feeling better for a longer shitty life.

How are you taking it?
snagglegaggle · 6 years ago
I can't answer for him, but typically it is 100mg/wk for testosterone replacement. This can be taken once a week. For body building administration is usually done twice weekly. There is a newer cream that is applied to the scrotum, otherwise it is usually injection.

If you are doing TRT testicular atrophy usually isn't a concern although it could be a cosmetic concern. Taking human chorionic gonadotropin will preserve testicular function but may not return the look of your saggy nads.

Life sucks ergo violence? No, therapy can help you cope.

My wants are inconvenient so roll over and die quietly? Doesn't sound attractive.

At the end the article foists everything upon mental health treatment. I see no evidence that that will be enough. What if your life just sucks?[1] A therapist can't snap their fingers and get you more money.

Embedded systems engineers are (usually) paid a lot less than full stack engineers.

Edit: I seem to be getting (a lot!) of downvotes on this. I thought it was quite well known, but apparently not.

Full Stack Engineer salary: $93,598 [1]

Embedded Software Engineer salary: $74,758[2]

This is true, had to turn down various jobs in big cities due to very low pay. Guys looked like I'd just slapped them when I'd named my price (previously done fullstack).

This is one of those projects that seems complex and expensive for the sake of being so. I doubt the final image is any better than what could have been created purely digitally. This would have been cool to see in the 1950s or 60s before CGI was a thing, but now it just seems over the top.
snagglegaggle · 6 years ago
These projects are undertaken more for inspiration than synthesis of a design. It is unlikely something similar would have been drempt up, realty is more strange.

I'll add that there are no SDRs from ettus, lime, or hackrf that put out even .25w without a separate amp. So he won't break the limit by accident.
snagglegaggle · 6 years ago
Are there any places selling amplifiers? It seems to be a closely guarded secret (because unlicensed operators must be protected from themselves, I guess). I found some but they wouldn't have been suitable for any testing I wanted to do with the LimeSDR I have.

What do you mean disrupting the executive function? I have taken citalopram (an SSRI) for years without any impact.
snagglegaggle · 6 years ago
SSRIs are typically described by psychiatrists to their patients as making them more likely to act. They do this by disrupting the decision making process so you can't talk yourself out of an action due to anxiety, etc.

In some cases this can lead to manic like symptoms associated with dopamine release, like obsessive gambling, extreme promiscuity, and overall poor decision making. You can check the side effects list of your medication, though some are more prone to this than others.
