Can someone please explain Pink Floyd to me? Is it the lyrics that are cool? Do you have to be on drugs? I'm not being facetious, I would very much appreciate a link to a song, more specifically a part of a song that you like, and ideally a brief blurb about why you like it. I've tried on multiple occasions to listen to them, and my experience every time has been "this must just not be one of the songs people like."

Comfortably Numb is my favorite song, of all types. For me, David Gilmour's amazing guitar solos are the best part. Psychedelic rock is the genre and I don't know anyone else that sounds like this band. https://youtu.be/x-xTttimcNk

We need heat pump that work below -20F like we need an electric car that can go 1000 miles in a single charge - which is we really don't for the 99% of the use case. What's needed is a heat pump that's cheaper to install than gas furnace or oil boiler for the 80% of the population. On few days of the year when it's -20F or below, it's ok to use resistive heater as a back up.

Sort of, but really we need both. Yes cheaper for most people. But as someone who lives in Minnesota, we definitely get below those temps. By code we require full backup resistive heaters for a heat pump at such a rating which increases the full cost and installation cost. Plus, it is much less efficient than a heat pump (though efficiency lowers as the temp gets colder due to defrost cycles).

How does one train for a 24 hour run? Do you need to run the full 24 or is it enough to run single or double marathon distances leading up to the race?
scojomodena · 3 years ago
Marathon-esque training is pretty good. The difference is really in being able to slow down so you are well within your aerobic zone, below your threshold pace/effort. Running slow enough so you can breathe only through your nose is a good measure. From there, it's about eating and hydration, etc. Ultras are often described as a "an eating competition with some running thrown in". The joints of course is a big deal too, some can do it easier than others.

Also, most people walk a lot, you don't have to run, you just keep making forward progress.

source: I've done a few Ultras and have used a running coach.

Houses will never be heated by electricity in the north. Its currently -30 degrees celsius in the Calgary where I live. Its going to be -35 tomorrow. People would literally die if you got your wish.

I'm in Minnesota. True air source heat pumps aren't great at such temps, but ground source heat pumps it doesn't matter at all. Lot higher install cost though.

Passive income. Or recognizing at least the goal of increasing your income/time ratio.
