Thank you.

Original article blocks Tor.

Archive blocks Tor by having a Google Captcha (which cannot be completed under Tor).

No article for me, evil Tor user that I am.

I hate to spread FUD but tor alone is rather weak. Whonix(nested) helps but even that isn't enough for me.

You need to have your own nodes up and running completely divorced from your own identity as well as a record of known-bad tor nodes.

You need something to download and relay information to you across multiple protocols with significant delay and a lot of other mixed media streaming in.

There are lots of university labs across the globe that do a much better job than me.

It's undoubtedly insane but masked memes does did enough to put my mind at ease when handling radioactive information when i still considered myself a part of "tech".

It took hours to DL stuff securely but it could turn any pdf/website into a couple thousand high-quality shitposts across the clear-web. You just need a big library.

Drop an email if you want some stories. Check out my comments if you want to get a general vibe of how crazy I am.

In the absence of that I would really encourage you to get familiar w/ QGIS and EU satellite data.

Shoshana Zuboff's book "The Age of Surveillance Capitalism" is a great intro if you're looking for some talking points to help articulate thought along this vein.

This isn’t a counterargument. Yes, mainstream US sites are not saints and have many serious issues. Also yes, they are least subject to US jurisdiction and can be held to some account. If these restrictions drive users to websites that are far, far worse then they will be doing more harm than good.

If i were interested in argument I'd cite dozens of papers from https://digitalcommons.uri.edu/dignity/

But whenever i've done so from alt accounts I get brigaded. I have literally paid people to edit comments to improve my tone and it makes no difference.

I'm just sharing a small, honest, account of lived experience. I come here for discussion. Not debate. certainly not argument. If i present myself incorrectly I try to act reflexively and openly.

Some people want to discount that and make everything fact based but sometimes sharing facts on the wrong forum just further reinforces injustice.

I do 20+ pushups, crunches, or burpees in between posts across the web. lol

I didn't say that they remove every single piece of problem content, or that they remove every single thing a user flags. But I do believe that they go out of their way to do so. They make way too much money to do otherwise.

Also, they may (I hope) be a better company now than in the past, as your example seems to show (you indicate that they started requiring verification for uploaded videos). Maybe they grew up, or maybe they just realized that their revenue (or entire business) would be compromised unless they took serious, ongoing action.

In any case - Aylo/PH must certainly be better than many of the alternatives that are based in very permissive jurisdictions and just don't care. Those are the sites people in these Southern states are going to end up on now.

I'm sorry that in your case they failed though.

Yeah, no. They absolutely did not do everything in their capacity. The complete opposite is my anecdotal unsourced take.

I worked w/ a woman who used 1000s of sockpuppets of soldiers near military bases to try to wax out information about the aggression associated with their suggestion algorithms.

Pornhub is worse than YT when it comes to encouraging radicalism. She didn't even get to publish and she would receive dildos, fleshlights, and other horrific things. She left the country.

I feel like I definitely suffer from this. I used to be able to recall everything but a lifetime of trauma online has given me definitive bitrot brain.

My armchair theory is that it’s partly a marketing problem. Covid was treated with more fear because it was “the coronavirus” at first. Everyone has had “the flu” before, but nobody had had the spooky “coronavirus” at that point (even if they had—they just hadn’t heard of it). “It’s just the flu bro” is a difficult mindset to overcome.

The same marketing problem existed with CVEs before Heartbleed. CVE-2014-0160 just doesn’t sound as frightening.

The US government was also recorded (and confirmed) as dumping TONS of covid misinformation throughout the entire world. Leaks from a defense contractor showed as much.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-covi...

Helping a local org give thousands of covid shots to seniors, people living in congregate housing, etc# was not easy because there was a lot of resistance from these communities due to the massive amounts of scary information out there.

If you want an example see this: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/360815298_Foreign_M...

It really felt like there was literally nothing wholesome on anyones feeds for almost an entire year. Limited exposure from all non-profits i know of in my community. Significantly reduced views, deleted posts, erroneous flags, etc#.....

Meanwhile, everyone in every neighborhood gets nothing but images + videos of people dying or getting sick from "the jab", "5g", "the mark of the beast", etc#

Most of the women running these non-profits are former executives, local gov't officials, or workers in DHS or other like agencies. They're not stupid and incapable of "getting a message out". Something is and was seriously wrong w/ operation lightspeed.

America sits on a weird knife edge where there's (a) lots of talk about political violence, which is constitutionally protected and (b) lots of stockpiling of weapons, which is constitutionally protected, and (c) lots of routine mass murder incidents, which follow logically from (a) and (b) ..

BUT

.. apart from Jan 6 and a few milita incidents, nobody ever combines these three into politically targeted violence. The mass murders are always either strangers, workplace, or schoolchildren. Politically motivated, but not targeted at any kind of power structure. It's been a long time since the Unabomber. All the elements are in place for a really serious deterioration of civil safety, but so far the glue is holding.

sadboi31 · 8 months ago
Yeah they do. Check out the 764 cult + project gladio. Lots of assassinations towards left-leaning folks. Atleast two such cases recorded on forensic architecture of murders of hacktivists going unchecked after quiet obviously being staged by intelligence agencies. One in Germany and one at a BLM event.

I wont speak more on it here but I can think of atleast 6 people i've known closely who've just gone completely dark online + in their community after anti-govt organization. I assume they're dead.

just sent a pretty wild message across the waves. No real information about our clients in there but a lot about me + my biz partner since we're the ones w/ our heads out.

The main client we're supporting is a former telecom executive who I suspect has just been talking to a bunch of bots for the last 6mo+ across mediums so i'm trying to safeguard her against any more unknowns since she's old and I can't do much to help.

i'm currently drowning trying to support another client (a black church) that comes closer to direct health services that has had even stranger problems over the last 2 years imo.
