I checked my FTX account, only had play money in there. But, despite all the people saying "FTX is fine, withdrawls still work, it's all fine" - nope, everything is disabled, withdrawls show $0.10 avaialble to withdrawl (out of a few hundred I had in actual US cash, plus the BTC and doge transactions are all disabled. This is very serious for many people - there are some who had substantial amounts of money, including my friend who is at the moment suicidal, a lot of his identity and worth was tied up in crypto. Please offer support to those you know who are affected by this scam, and do not encourage or enable anyone else to dablle more than throwaway money into anything crypto

I disagree. What makes stainless steel more complicated than painted steel/aluminum? The Model X already has totally internal ultrasonic sensors facing outwards on the falcon doors. I don't see why that couldn't be repeated with the stainless cybertruck

I put the power button at the top so that I don't accidentally take a screenshot when I want to change the volume. Somebody please give me a design job at Apple.

I still don't understand why Apple moved the power button to the side opposite the volume buttons.

Is there good money to be made though? If idiots are happy to pay more for shit than they do for quality work I'll happily deliver them shit.

European democracy at its best. Proud to be European today.

did you feel proud when the eu passed the cookie law? are you proud every time you have to wait for and click through a cookie modal? (never mind the development costs)

you might end up with an ad- and app-store- riddled europhone and if you decide that you want to buy a us or international spec iphone you won’t be permitted to do so.

I do wish iPhones could use alternate browser engines and bypass the Apple 30% cut, but the fact I'm having to click through one of those stupid cookie dialogs on this page just leaves the bad taste in my mouth of how much the EU regulation screwed up the internet the last time they made a change like this.

Not saying I want tracking cookies everywhere, but they should have just made tracking cookies illegal outright, rather than legal if people agree meaning I have to dismiss thousands of cookie dialogs a year.

Because they were incompetent in writing their legislation, they doomed us to cookie dialogs for the rest of my life.

pmcollins · 3 years ago
the cookie law should have ended up with a browser setting. but eu bureaucrats apparently don’t know the first thing about web standards (and why would they) so we get every single website in the world having to code a custom dialog, and billions of users having to click through them forever. this legislation is the eu cookie law writ large: well meaning, ill conceived, government overreach by bureaucrats who don’t represent or understand the companies being affected. it’s a sad state of affairs when the most significant contribution of europe to technology is not technology, but bad legislation with massive global implications.

And a few months ago Tesla was valued more than all the brands on the list, combined. If that isn’t a sign of a stock market bubble I don’t know what is.

if apple were worth more than all of the other personal computer makers combined (maybe it is idk) would that also be a sign of a bubble? is that all it takes or does growth rate matter?
