Why is Dyson being sued for actions taken by their suppliers? This is setting a bizarre precedent.

I like this system but it will make the rich richer. Disney will never have a problem paying the $100k or even $10M from something that is generating revenue. But the heirs of a mildly successful author won’t be able to, leaving those works to be harvested for free by Disney et al.

The current system, for all its faults, gives rich and poor the same benefits.

Keeping The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien (published 1954) would have forced the Tolkien estate to pay $100k in 1982 on minimal revenues. Then $10M in 1996 in the hope that they would recoup it in a future film licensing agreement. Except no one would pay $10M+ to license it when they could just wait until 2010 to pay $0 and make it without any conditions being stipulated by the Tolkien estate.

So the Tolkien Estate would have let copyright lapse in 1996 and the eventual adaption would have grossed $900 million, of which they’d have seen $0. Followed by 2 more adaptations that grossed $1 billion each.

Edit: downvote if you want, but nothing I’ve said is inaccurate or incorrect.

The idea of an exponential fee is a good one, in what universe does a _single_ Disney IP become worth over $1T?

API still seems to work if you already have a script to hand to unproxy everything.

The worst part of this so-called “feature” is when very diligent creators from non-English-speaking countries already present in English language. But YouTube just assumes it's in their native language, so you have this horrible AI voiceover by default instead of their voice or VO artist that they use.

Seems kinda silly to make an 8K video card when ... nobody on the planet has an 8K screen

Someone else probably said that years ago when everyone was rocking 1080/1440p screens.

With enough time sunk into it, these numbers are more... suggestions, anyway.

My system has a 7950X3D and four sticks at DDR5-6600. The module density, board trace topology, and luck-of-the-draw on IMC/SOC can matter a fair bit.

Tuning voltages/timings can make up differences. Also remember the infinity fabric clocks and such being somewhat paired

Is this with the EXPO profiles, or are they running at the JEDEC transfer rate?

While this was nice, github-roast actually gave constructive advice whilst also putting me down.

Comcast has no vested interest in not sharing/re-selling my data. also it provides a stable IPv4 with geoip tagging that both serves to de-anonymize me and make it easier for third-parties to track me.

My VPN provider has a vested interest in not sharing or re-selling my data, if caught doing so it would cause a major loss of business for them and potentially permanently tarnish their reputation. Additionally they provide a stable IPv4 shared with many other users. Tracking is still possible, but is far less trivial and not so easily correlated with a county/state.

So I use a VPN. It keeps me safe from script-kiddies who might discover my IP when I visit their website. I provide free help for people having trouble with HTML/CSS, so I visit a lot of strange places.

Comcast and $VPN_PROVIDER have a vested interest in staying in business, so they will gladly hand over the data to the friendly neighbourhood intelligence agency when requested.
