Here’s my advice. If you still like working with data then you should look into consulting where you get to work on different projects across different domains. You have to build up your toolkits even within data science. Mastering something like GIS takes awhile and same goes for time-series/finance. And only way to do this is through consulting gigs.

When Ukrainians overthrew Putin’s puppet Yanukovych back in 2014?
My personal opinion is that Putin was never negotiating in good faith. He was negotiating as a stalling tactic while prepared and/or waited for the most opportune time to invade.
I think it’s 2011 when NATO flipped on Libya. That’s the exact moment Putin stopped being friendly to the West.
Nuclear weapons are really a horrible curse, in every single ways possible. You can see the bully coming after your neighbors and you know, they know, everybody knows you won’t do anything to defend yourself to avoid a nuclear conflict. If we wouldn’t have nukes we would join our neighbors and fight but the real risk of a complete nuclear annihilation freezes all our moves.
Ukrainians and Georgians are indeed fighting our war, defending the European cause, while we are bystanders. The entire situation makes me feel sick.

Ukraine deserves all the money that will go toward building back their economy when they finally win this war.

The reason I don't want a European army is that I don't really see Germany def ending a couple of countries that hate it.
Germany demilitarized after WW2 and decided to use diplomacy and economic integration to ensure peace, instead of war. And they tried to play nice with Russia, after they killed 27 million Russians in WW2. Now everyone is acting like Putin going mad is Germany's fault. Now everybody wants Germany to be a military power again. The last two times they were, the world burned.
And yes, the German approach to reign in Russia failed. But so did the US approach of treating Russia as an enemy forever.
This is my argument too. History teaches us it’s never the people. It’s that one bad apple.
Solution is simple: force Russia to demilitarize. Put sanctions on them until they do.
Ukraine is fighting our war right now, as an united nation. Huge respect.
This is it. Ironic considering that EU/US is unwilling to fight a war that will benefit them the most. Ukraine is fighting this war for their country but they are also fighting to save the world from a very possible WWIII.

We have better soviel standards than most countries. Are way more social than USA.

I am sorry it came across that way but this is how wars start. Countries first have excuses to build up arms. Same reason why I would never want Japan to build up arms. It is NOT different this time. And Russia has shown that. It’s never the people. It takes just ONE bad apple to start it all back up.
And by the way, I did educate myself. Educated myself quite a bit on WWI and WWII.

Elementary Number Theory by David Burton. I started reading this book in 8th grade to get a bit better at math competitions. Oh boy did it open my eyes.
As an adult, it’s Shannon’s The Mathematical Theory of Communication. I read it at least once a year. It’s the most intellectually powerful paper I’ve ever read.

quite a few commenters have pointed out SWIFT as a hand of soft power and i think its important to understand the twitter post doesnt mention an important fact:
SWIFT was created in order that Europe may resist Kissingers increasingly capricious hand of soft power as it emerged as a lead sap in an increasingly arbitrary US foreign policy. 40 years ago the US had become effectively drunk on soft-power moves against states it perceived as even remotely objective to US interests. Is your president elect too socialist? you get an aircraft carrier floating in your strait for a year. did you nationalize your oil fields? sanctions mean you cant sell it to anyone. Cuba to this day still enjoys endless sanctions for resisting regime change.
in 2022 sanctions are to international diplomacy as a tantrum is to a toddler. theyre effectively meaningless as most capable, observant countries have managed to sidestep in part or in whole the once dominant US hegemony of finance and trade. even the threat of a blue-water naval presence is an unspeakable taboo as Russia is one of a handful of emerging countries you wouldnt dare send an aircraft carrier to patrol, unless its goal was to secure the ocean floor.
The only meaningful threat SWIFT offers is the ability to assuage short-term market fears among traders that dont fully understand just how inapplicable SWIFT is in this case.
This is a conspiracy theory. Please stop.
