Anyone know if it's possible to run a modern distribution on this? I had a bit of difficulty running full-fledged Linux on a Thinkpad X60 due to it being 32bit. Linux mint debian edition came to my rescue, but I wonder if you'd need linux from scratch or something like that.

I run MX Linux on my T60.

Obviously, they're Google, but does it strike anyone else as odd that the `.google` tld exists? Why not `.amazon`, `.toyota`, etc
luke2m · 3 years ago
There are many brand tlds. Many large companies have them, even if their main site is not on it.

https://purelymail.com/ has no hard limits and roundcube (a modern looking webmail) but is a smaller operation.

> That's a very selfish view.

Not sure how advocating for more people is selfish, but okay.

> More people also means more energy need, more recourses use, more garbage too. There is not unlimited recourses to exploits.

Energy can be practically infinite. Simply requires us to use nuclear power. Yes, Yes, there's issues of waste with that. It's overblown and a moral panic.

More resources are used. Yes. However, thinking of it on a universal scale, even resources are "infinite".

That's what i mean. Resources and Energy are practically infinite when you look at it on a long term scale.

I simply don't think, it's a good idea to advocate for humanity to simply reduce and fizzle out. No. Why should we? We should advance life forward. That does not mean in the same way as before. We can do better. But advocating for the reduction of humanity, of life, is wrong in my opinion.

After all, there is no other life we know of out there like us. Why stop?

That's what people thought about oil, trees, etc. before.

I went from a fitback back to a simple casio gshock and it was one of the better decisions I made this year.

Now I don't need to worry about charging my watch every week nor do I have to think about finicky software.

The best tools are the ones that do their job so well you rarely have to think about them.

Casio's solar models are even better -- you don't need even the once every few year battery change.
