Nothing OpenAI is doing, or ever has done, has been close to AGI.

Please, keep telling people that. For my sake. Keep the world asleep as I take advantage of this technology which is literally General Artificial Intelligence that I can apply towards increasing my power.

Yeah; and:

We want to open source very capable models.
Seems like nary a daylight between DeepSeek R1, Sonnet 3.5, Gemini 2.5, & Grok3 really put things in perspective for them!

In general, the vulnerability of our computers is major national security concern as we enter in the era of AGI. This administration needs to setup a system hardening commission. In the era of AI... if we aren't using the leading AI to hack our own systems first, then when the capability to use the latest models to hack is widely available, we are going to have a bad time.

Agreed, Adam really is one of the best at what he does. His talks, demos, were always so interesting. My guess is that he'll be at Microsoft shortly.

What Google is saying with this layoff is that they no longer care about web developer relations. Chrome has not been well funded for years.

Firefox did the same thing five years ago, when they fired David Baron, who was one of the top 5 engineers in the world that understood how HTML layout works. He got instantly hired by Chrome.

It is kind of crazy that the core group that moves web standards forward is around 150 people. And most of them did not get rich off it, and have been doing it for decades.

With only a 100x increase in cost, we improved performance by 0.1x and continued plotting this concave-down diminishing-returns type graph! Hurray for logarithmic x-axes!

Joking aside, better than ever before at any cost is an achievement, it just doesn't exactly scream "breakthrough" to me.

I've found cannabis to be extremely helpful. It adds a tinge of paranoia - so if you're paranoid about not reaching your potential, it can kick you into gear.

Sometimes it seems to me that many of us are in a state of permanent entertainment. It has become our default mode so any break from it may trigger even anxiety..

In my life I find that what works the best for my kid and for myself are physical activities such as climbing, swimming and walks in forest.

I'm trying to find ways to replace dopamine with serotonin (replacing pleasure with happiness) and it seems that usually involves some form of physical activity where mind needs to focus on the movement and surroundings, so that there is simply not much room for thinking and desires.

It's truly not a fair fight. There are literally trillions of dollars being spent to hijack our attention
