I am a noob, but is the Zohran Mamdani (new NYC mayor candidate)'s campaign also using this style of typeface for the logos etc. It looks similar.

Do you have any links that we can check out? I'm curious to see what they look like now.

I have instituted a policy where every major chip design is reviewed and approved by me
A surefire path to success!

You left out the best part at the end "...before tape-out"

So, he's going to wait until the tape out stage of a major new chip design before he reviews it? Bold move.

Most commercial aircraft have quite a few more buttons, knobs, levers, dials, etc than a car.

Commercial aircraft pilots are also much better trained than car drivers.

what's the alternative? Is it really information or misinformation?
knifie_spoonie · 2 months ago
Education.

I really wish all this time, effort, and money was spent on educating our kids to safely navigate the online world.

It's not like they'll magically figure it out for themselves once they turn 17.

A few years back I went in to buy an Apple TV. Walked in, straight up to the Apple TV display, stood using it for a few mins, stood looking outwards towards the rest of the store, tried to make eye contact with any staff. No one paid any attention, staff happily chatting away to each other. I couldn't have looked more ready to buy without waving cash around.

Apple Store employees are definitely trained better than the average shop, but they are far from luxury.

Just to be clear, you never actually spoke to one of the staff and said you'd like to purchase something?

Crazier things have happened. It would not be shocking if a couple of people survived.
knifie_spoonie · 2 months ago
Indeed. There were survivors from that horrific Korean flight that crashed into the concrete wall.

Yeah those suck - the vents often break, they’re ugly, they don’t work as well.

The Tesla vents are great, the ui is good or can use voice. Other companies that attempt what Tesla does do it poorly with bad software.

knifie_spoonie · 3 months ago
I've driven many cars over the years. Not once has a vent ever broken.

Which cars are you driving where they break often?

Damn I’m wondering now if that’s why we studied Java as our first programming language in Australia at uni for CS.

Oracle have a relatively big presence here and there’s a comfortable “mates” system that runs the Australia (soft bribery).

knifie_spoonie · 4 months ago
I was at Uni in Australia well before Oracle bought Sun. Java was used quite extensively then too.
