Same here, I have issues with Github, giving me 500s when loading the page, new pushed commits not showing up...

This is so utterly frightening. And disturbing to see how quickly stories like this are flagged into invisibility on HN.

edit: luckily enough people vouched for the story to be rescued.

The only way for me to find these stories is to use HN Algolia and sort by most popular in the last 24 hours. I guess lot of people do the same

> But no. Trump, ever the "stable genius," prefers cozying up to dictators.

Part of me is convinced Putin has enough dirt to sink even this "Teflon Don", which necessitates him acquiescing to whatever the puppet-master demands.

What looks like "cozying up" might very well be "time to pay your dues".

At the same time, his IDGAF attitude is one of his key strengths, so maybe there really is nothing anyone could possibly divulge that would "hurt" him.

I wonder what kind of dirt that could be, if he's already a known child rapist.

You can use 16px font size on mobile so the browser won't zoom in to the text field.

I find working with React and Mobx a breeze, also for complex apps. Not sure, why this has not been more widely adopted. It eliminates usually the need to use those mentioned unintuitive and error prone state handling mechanisms.

So much this. It's a perfect match for React. Let's you keep data/logic out of the components, 0 boilerplate, optimized renders (similar to what react compiler will do...).

You can even use tanstack-query to get all/most of its benefits. (by using its core package instead of react-query)

You previously answered me that getting H1B without a degree is a thing, but one has to have their work history well documented. Could you please expand on what involves? What if the companies someone worked at no longer exist? Thanks

I don't understand why 5K @ 27" is so sought after. My partner uses a 4K 32" display currently and if I'm at a normal sitting distance, I couldn't tell the difference between it and a 5K Studio Display. The 32" is 137ppi which sounds low, but with your eyes at 25" away it's still "retina".

As I sit at my desk now looking at my 27" 1440p (108ppi) display at a distance of 23" I really cannot fathom having double the pixel density. Could it be better? Sure! I chose 144Hz over density, but double the amount of pixels? No way in hell

4k 32" is 77% less pixels than 5k 27". That many pixels make night and day difference in text sharpness

>All of this looks like MobX

Shhhh. Don't tell the Vue/Svelte community that they're just reinventing the React ecosystem on a 5 year delay. It will spoil all of their fun.

kecupochren · 2 years ago
MobX is not that known unfortunately. It kills me inside.

Very legit. The experience just needs to be professional and well-documented and the evaluation done by a reputable evaluation service.

Documented meaning I need to have all my previous job contracts/documents? What if the companies don't exist anymore?

How common are H1Bs for people without a degree but with 12+ years of experience? Is that a legit thing?
