People dont know it, but tesla model Y was best selling car in 2023. This company is so far ahead, despite the hate
joshl32532 · 7 months ago
That has nothing to do with this article and CyberTruck?

Also, Tesla sales went down in 2024 in the US. https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/2491/tesla-suffers-sharp-d...

Remember when Open AI CTO squirms In response to a question about using data from YouTube? https://digg.com/digg-vids/link/open-ai-ceo

OpenAI's CTO, Mira Murati, found herself in a tight spot when questioned about using YouTube data to train Sora. Her uncertain response has sparked controversy and raised concerns about their ethics in collecting and training data. This incident has fueled a growing debate about AI companies' data practices.

Then YouTube's CEO, Neal Mohan said, if OpenAI used YouTube content without permission, it would violate their terms of service. Shall Neal freakout like how they are now!! Clearly they are scared, they know people are canceling their subscriptions with them to and use free and better technologies. I know of 100 of people canceled their gpt subscription. Many developers are replacing the expensive gpt models for free deepseek.

Here is the AI current story:

Imagine two AI trains chugging along the tracks of innovation. The first, driven by OpenAI, was the early leader, after they using Google transformers (and without they wouldn't exist). They charged a hefty fare for anyone to hop aboard. We don't know how they trained their data. And big companies felt they had to buy tickets or risk being left behind. OpenAI thought they were the only engine in town. But then, another train pulled up alongside them. This new locomotive, powered by smart folks at DeepSeek, matched OpenAI's speed and fancy gadgets, if not better. The kicker? Everyone could ride for free!

Now, OpenAI's train is losing steam. People are jumping ship, with hundreds canceling their pricey GPT subscriptions. Meanwhile, the free train is picking up speed, aiming to make AI available to all.

In this tale of two trains, OpenAI might need to change their name to "ClosedAI" if they keep putting up barriers, being closed. The free and open train? That's the one chugging towards a brighter, better, free AI future for everyone.

deepseek = Open AI

Did you make a poll or something?

Is it me or does it seem like the internet era has taken away incumbent advantage and actually put incumbents at a massive disadvantage? I'm not here to attack or defend what Trudeau has actually done, only to posit the idea that once you become a leader in the political landscape there is a very effective machine whose only job is to attack you, personally, as much as possible anywhere you're perceived to be vulnerable. If you've followed US politics for the last decade the perfect example of this is "tan suit".

It works both ways.

When Trudeau first took office, he was the meme of being Canada's young and handsome PM, and he enjoyed a good few years of "honeymoon" period that many leaders can only wish for.

I can’t believe Justin Trudeau would lowball your friend like that.
joshl32532 · 8 months ago
In this case, it's definitely Trudeau's administration fault by flooding the Canadian job market with immigrants, which lowers job compensation and increasing housing cost.

This is never passing.

Trump-inspired conservatives are on their ways to be guaranteed majority at the next federal elections.

joshl32532 · 8 months ago
The conservatives were leading the polls wayyy before Trump even winning the GOP primaries.

Canadians are just tired of Justin Trudeau after almost 10 years. Which happens to even the best of leaders, and JT is far from it.

So it looks like it's basically the same as the Quest 3 except for the screen resolution and the use of different lenses (instead of the pancake lenses). Everything else seems similar or even better (and there's a new button to transition from AR to VR akin to the one on the Apple Vision Pro).

At half the price, the Q3S seems to be a nobrainer no?

joshl32532 · a year ago
Lower resolution, lower FOV and Fresnel lens...

Not really nobrainer if you want the best experience. And things like these could make or break the VR immmersion.

At $250, I could buy my dad three pairs to last him all day and still pay less than his current hearing aids.
joshl32532 · a year ago
But how's the $80 hearing aids sound quality when playing music? Or ANC performance?

If your dad doesn't care about those, then he's not Apple's target demographic anyway.

Yes, this is a clear example of how regulation was harming people (not all regulation is bad, but some of it is, usually the kind that gets between safe things and users)
joshl32532 · a year ago
This.

Those who have the money/insurance will still go through their doctor for expensive "prescription" hearing aids.

Those low income ones can buy one off Amazon/Walmart which (though not the best) makes a huge difference than not having one.

Serious case of sticker shock here.

My current Android phone was free from the provider in exchange for buying around 3 months of service in advance. It is no speed demon but certainly does all of your average phone stuff just fine.

joshl32532 · a year ago
Yeah, iPhone/Galaxy Sxx price without the same reliability.

You're crazy if you spend $1k for Pixel's build quality.
