This is really really really old news.

I don’t think so. Sure, there has been rumours but this story delivers solid proof for the first time. Also this has not got any real media coverage.

Disney has put so much effort into building Mickey Mouse as a brand that I don't mind all the protections they get. Plus, he's more of an icon than a character, so he's more likely to be an already-allowed stand-in for commentary on Disney (a la South Park) than people telling new stories with him.

You don’t seem to be bothered by the ramifications of this. Really short sighted thinking.

I bought this game a few weeks ago with a friend and we jumped in without any prior knowledge about the game or how it worked. After about 3 hours we were finally starting to understand the basic principles and I have to say wow, it's an absolute blast to play. Many hours in now we've finally begun developing our own strategies and it's absolutely insane. I have to say that 5D Chess is one of the most creative and innovative games that I've played in recent memory and I highly recommend it.

What is your opinion on how into the chess one needs to be to get a similar kind of experience out of the 5D chess? Asking as a casual hobby player.

The problem with the Giesecke approach is that it relies on 2 assumptions being true. 1) that infection brings long term immunity to the currently circulating strains. 2) that covid-19 will not mutate into a new strain with equivalent pathogenicity to which those with immunity to the current strain are no longer immune. If either of these are false then you will not get a meaningful form of immunity in the population. Currently we don't have any evidence that either assumption is true so pursuing this approach carries an increased risk for very little benefit.

Regarding point 2 - it is more likely that mutations would actually cause sars-cov-2 to be less pathogenic. Futher if you judge merits of approach solely by looking at death counts you miss the bigger picture: what is the total cost of the approach when you include economy and other indirect impacts, eg. mental issues caused by more severe isolation.

Funny that even if this site does typography well, it miserably fails in accessibility as parts of text have way too low contrast against background. Still great content and I will definitely dig in.

On your website you put a source mark on the statement 'This is the same reason the Brits mistakenly assumed that the Germans had an exceptionally good aim with their V-1 flying bombs during World War II '

I'd like to read about this, do you still have the intended link?

Not, In fact I'm trying to start some critic discussion.

If somebody claims that a vegan diet is healthier and better, I would expect some facts that support that claim at least. Do you know somebody that became centenary following a strict vegan diet? I think that we can discard directly all historical data of "vegan" people living before 1945 or so, because some vitamins weren't still industrially synthesized. This people either faked their veganism or were really very ill. History after 1945 is relatively well documented; thus should be possible to find inspiring stories about actual vegan people living until 100 Yo.

On the other hand, reaching 100 years with a mediterranean diet or a Japanese diet based in marine food has been proved as uncommon, but perfectly possible, with dozens of cases reported at least.

I'm genuinely interested in this topic. I'm not saying that vegan diet is the best diet out there, but what I've read so far it really seems to be a much healthier alternative than the "western default".

Some interesting studies about vegan diet and it's impact on health:

http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/89/5/1627S.fullhttp://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1038/oby.2007.270/fullhttp://www.bmj.com/content/293/6560/1468http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/1097-0142(1989080...

All these studies contain findings that support the idea of vegan diet being one of the healthiest option: vegans tend to have lower BMI, blood pressure and reduced (prostate) cancer rate.

Go buy the "eat to live cookbook" and eat the stuff in there. Eat as much as you want as long as it's in the book. The extreme is not for me right now (mostly have to prioritize shopping and cooking time) and it takes a few weeks to get used to but the food is good and healthy.
