If the staff sees this - please stop preventing zoom. Not only is that bad for accessibility, it makes the article less useful for everyone - there's a screenshot included showing off the feature, but it's too small to read on the phone and I can't zoom in.

This has been bugging me as well.

I don't know if anyone will find it interesting here, but I'm speechless and I had to publish it. I don't know what to say, except I'm happy I released the source code on github years ago.

The original game was very much an indie/bedroom game, I programmed it over 12 months while I was studying and working a part-time job. But thanks to the efforts of our published Friendware it got released all over the world. I had published 2 commercial games in the 80s but then I shifted towards a more "normal software" direction via college and working at a bank, but the demoscene and the shareware world got me back into games, where I stay to this day.

Intriguing. I would like to see how the game fares on original Amiga hardware (040/AGA) because emulation doesn't really do justice with 3D games.

I had a bit of a failed transition while hoping for a fast one. I gave the app image for Macos a try. the available binaries are for Intel only, and 120Hz scrolling isn't working despite matching the final Firefox version to the point. I can't tell what else is missed out from Firefox. I didn't have much luck with the Homebrew version either. It doesn't run at all.

Anyone got better luck on Mac?

Lack of 120hz scrolling is a bummer, so LF feels somewhat sluggish on a macbook pro compared to other browsers.
dean2432 commented on Ask HN: Could the Amiga have had full-speed C64 support with a hardware 6502?    · Posted by u/amichail

I don't know. Maybe in the first couple of years?

But I think that the C64 compability of the C128 was detrimental. Because the C64 was so established it resulted in very little C128 native software being made. Publishers could just put a "C128 compatible" sticker on their existing C64 software.

That looks like a privacy nightmare.

They make it literally impossible to delete your old messages. It's a privacy nightmare and I wonder why the EU hasn't stepped in.

Awesome work! One question on a killer feature I need for an app like this. Recursive mode: where a folder will show every image in all sub folders recursively. Does your app have something like this?
dean2432 · a year ago
Try Phoenix Slides for this. That app is so fast!

It is amazing what people do with C64s. It’s like the ultimate hacker computer.

I’m waiting for someone to make a 1Ghz / 64GB model.

dean2432 · a year ago
The fun lies in the limitations :) 64k ram should be enough for everyone. Forget GHz, the CPU runs almost at 1000 KHz - luxury!
