National security vs. free speech.

National security wins. Game over.

Fake national security concerns, though? I’ll pass

Nobody in my country cared about copyrights at all until the US and its "stakeholders" started its trade agreements and emergent market naughty list bullshit. I remember some MPAA lobbyist asshole coming here many years ago to push his agenda being met by journalists asking why this should be a priority in a country with a ridiculously high homicide rate and without universal basic sanitation, now we're wasting resources ineffectively policing imaginary american property.

> imaginary American property

Well, your country is consuming it, it doesn’t seem very imaginary…

You’re right.

Why should we as developers target plebes who can’t afford to buy $1000 dollar devices and opt for platforms that start at a fraction of that, ie the majority of the world.

F’ing commoners.

It’s not classist to target consumers that spend money.

Because the company you are buying from what doing the minimum to achieve the "Pasture Raised Organic" label, which is not a very high bar. These laws impact them just as much as the "budget eggs".

To be a "free-range" or "pasture-raised" chicken you simply need access to the outdoors. So, these animals are kept in the same cramped, feces-filled hothouses that the "budget chickens" are, but there's a tiny hole in the side of the barn where they can access a tiny bit of grass. That's it.

There is no incentive for these companies to do anything above the bare minimum; you will never find a large-scale egg supplier that raises chickens in the idyllic environment you may picture in your head.

It’s more complicated than that, please reference the Whole Foods egg producer standards document.

Longer business cycles? Broilers would be last years layers
captainredbeard · 3 years ago
Broilers are different breeds than layers and “spent hens” tend to only get eaten by farmers, etc, because of the raised risk of deboning error and undesirably tough meat

Gotcha. Thank you.

IDK about including a full HTML into a QR code (how would you even open it? Wouldn't a reader get confused expecting a URL or plain string?)

But...

You can publish portable secrets on your website (just make sure they aren't advertised/linked/crawled) and then create a QR code of the (secret-by-obscurity) URL.
