My basic setup was vim/emacs (only as text editors) + grep/sed. It is totally doable and it is possible to be really productive but makes no sense when you have actually tried out adding some integrated tooling to your editor.
Well python allows for type annotations as part of the language; javascript does not, so the compilation stage in typescript is just about erasing types for the most part (typescript tries to have minimal impact on the runtime). It just seems like a worse option than typescript's syntax. Bun runs typescript natively without doing any of the type checking
As a Dane, I feel like if it's coffee with cheese, shouldn't it be ostekaffe? Kaffeost suggests it's a cheese with coffee flavour. Though, I have never heard of this either.
