I tried it. In 70% of questions I preferred gpt-5.

It's a pity that the responses are all very short.

My split was more 40% GPT-5, 60% GPT-4o. I think GPT-4o was better at communicating over interpersonal issues, but it ultimately depends on your perspective.

Too bad it's misogynistic. I'm not sure you already knew that. If I were rude enough to call you a name, I wonder what term I could use that would work either way!

As a gay man, I disagree. I think it's a word that describes someone who doesn't consider others without realizing it.

I do not consider auto-upgrading people to pay more for something they probably aren’t already using “transparent”. Most especially if they didn’t mention in the email that there is a way to keep the existing price.

I'm just reacting to the article, mostly. I think they framed it without mentioning the details in my comment, which your comment glosses over.

I have so many things to complain about with Microsoft, especially the enshitification of Windows, but I think the way they handled the Microsoft 365 plan change was actually transparent. I got an email telling me the price was going to go up a month before my plan was going to renew, and I logged into my account and saw the option to downgrade back to the tier I was originally on. It's a hassle, but it's a one-time thing. Of course it's still not cool of them to opt-in people to a more expensive tier.

Windows 10 came out almost 10 years ago and they offered a free upgrade to Windows 11. I know people love to hate on Microsoft, but they’ve done better than most technology companies when it comes to security updates here. You’re lucky to get even half of that length of support from most Android devices for example.

If we're comparing them to other software companies, what would be their fairest comparison? Is there another company that manages the overwhelming majority of client desktops around the world?

I can’t see a way that anyone would be able to give uncapped access to these models for a fixed price (unless you mean it’s scoped to your own use and not for company use? Even then, that’s still a risk to the provider.)

I use Msty a lot for personal use. I like its ability to fork conversations. Seems like a simple feature but even ChatGPT's UI, which everyone has tried to copy, is fairly limited by comparison.

For $250/mo I would hope it includes API access to Gemini 2.5 pro, but it's nice to want things.

Relationships are always the most important thing in every line of work, and are often valued more than how good you are at your job.

- Want a promotion? I hope your manager likes you

- Need collaboration from colleagues? Better not be a dick to them

- Want to look for new opportunities? Better have a network

We are social beasts at the end of the day.

Unfortunately this also seems to pave the way for cronyism, and people climbing up the ladder without merit to back it up. What should be considered is a balance between soft and hard skills.

If the writer of this post had a point, it was not obvious to me. I saw his prompt, I saw ChatGPT dump binary and then switch to Portuguese. Very confusing.

I would love to know if there are benchmarks that show how much these prompts improve the responses.

I'd suggest trying: "Be careful not to hallucinate." :-)

I'm thinking if the org that trained the model, and is doing interesting research of trying to understand how LLMs actually work on the inside [1], their caution might be warranted.
