I remember back in the day Mike was building Huggingface before Huggingface was a thing. He was ahead of his time. It's a pity model depot is no longer around.

I really like this post since it shows how very little there is for the wealthy to buy other than status goods.

The life of the rich, other than status, is very much like the life of upper middle class. The same phones, the same digital entertainment, the same appliances in their homes.

We have very few items for the rich to buy. Honestly, it is a problem it breaks incentives and it drives the rich more towards status goods which help no one since they are zero sum.

We should have expensive products which actually improve lives.

Maybe the super rich should take up training LLMs as a hobby.

Any kind of thin client/zero client usage, where local storage is not required or allowed. Many years ago I used a similar solution for a finance company. The users just needed to get access to a browser to connect to a specific web service.

What was the implementation like? A unikernel spun up on demand?

This is a nice simple convenience feature, for sure [1]:

> example.com provides a /.well-known/change-password resource which redirects to their change password form, wherever it happens to already be.

> Password managers check for the existence of /.well-known/change-password on https://example.com.

> If it's there (the response code is 2xx or 3xx), the password manager can cause the user's browser to navigate there when the user indicates they'd like to change their password.

It's not trying to enforce a particular password schema, it's not an API endpoint to automate changing passwords, and it is not trying to dictate site design or form layout.

It's also dirt simple to implement with practically zero cost.

Aside from Safari, it doesn't seem like any password managers have implemented this yet. It's also not in the IANA well-known URI registry [2] yet (even as draft), so that would probably at least allow it to get a bit more traction. Apparently they are working towards that [3].

Here's an open source version of the common password rotation feature in most online password manager services: https://github.com/ddevault/pass-rotate

Does something like this exist in Europe? Free trading would be a dream. Paying 7,5 EUR to 15 EUR or more for each transaction gets old quick.

Free: Or paying a very little amount compared with what is considered the norm.

We're in the midst of a data gold rush. People who have data are struggling to monetize it. If you're a data buyer, you're probably swamped with the quantity and breadth of data providers out there. AI/ML techniques to make sense of this data are still only scratching the surface. I think this is where there is a lot of low-hanging fruit: creating services or tools that allow non-CS/non-Quant people to extract insights from TBs of data...

On the exchange side: these guys are always on the prowl for hot new properties to scoop up. The traditional business model of simply earning fees on exchange trading is slowly eroding away (for the last 10 years). So they need to branch out into services and other data plays...

Fwiw that's what I have been trying to do for the past few years, infrastructure for easier access to algorithmic trading.
