From what I gathered the (germany centric?) available "Tolino" eReaders are just a rebranding of Kobo (or the other way round). So depending on the model the OS should also run on Tolinos right?

Yes it does.

I bought a Tolino Shine 5 and converted it to Kobo Clara BW following this guide: https://old.reddit.com/r/tolino/comments/1hni1fn/you_can_con...

At the end I still returned the Shine 5 because the small front-facing LED kept shining for no reason. I don’t know if it was hardware related or happened because of the firmware switch.

iOS 26 finally enabled custom mic selection!

Settings > Sound & Haptics > Input > change from "Automatic: ..." to "iPhone Microphone"

Which sadly does not work very reliably. At least on my end the selection changes back to default every few days. I reported this issue over the Apple Feedback app already…

I have wanted to do experiments with a receipt printer hooked up to a Raspberry Pi, with some simple controls... but every time I look up the cost of the printer I balk. It's probably not fair, but I guess in my head it feels like they should be cheaper. Or at least the cost then makes me question how much time I'm really ready to put into stuff like debugging the printer drivers and putting together a case, etc etc.

The thing I actually want to play with is probably some kind of board game that incorporates the printer... ideally with bar/QR codes so the computer can print out money, IOUs, instructions, etc., and have this computer mediation that still gives people physical items to manipulate.

I recently bought a thermal ESC/POS printer for 25 Euros on Aliexpress but I saw the sames ones for 30 Euro on Amazon.

I connected it to my linux server and without any drivers I can print with e.g.: `echo "Hello World!" >> /dev/usb/lp0`.

It also supports bar/QR codes.

I would hope that Firefox on mobile got finally better/usable.

I still remember this blog post, which at the the time (late 2021), was 100% accurate: https://web.archive.org/web/20230221123127/https://blog.nori...

I bought a TENS 7000, which is #1 in Amazon's "Muscle Stimulators & Accessories" category. Mine came with a 9V battery. The specific "tens ear clips" that I purchased are no longer on Amazon, but similar ones are around $20 for a pack of 3-4.

Note: some people place electrodes on the tragus, as in this paper, but others stimulate the concha. Tragus needs one two pad clip, concha needs two one pad clips. The rubber pads are just slightly bigger than the eraser of a number 2 pencil.

Which mode on your TENS 7000 unit do you use when doing the vagus stimulation?

Burst, Normal or Modulation?

It is open source (the code is right there), but it's not Open Source due to what GP references. There is a distinction.

That’s just called „source available“.

Thanks for the feedback! Will get a demo video and contact info up shortly.

De-duplicating images is on our roadmap. Shoot me your contact info at hello@desktopdocs.com. Would love to see if we can help.

I would want to use a demo version (could be with limited functionality) before paying $99 upfront! Not a demo video...

For music on iOS I can't recommend foobar2000 [1] enough - and I tested ALL of the alternatives. You can import ANY folder (probably what OP is looking for) or use your "iPod Library". [2]

Personally, I sync my music via Synctrain (a Syncthing client). [3]
