2malaq commented on Show HN: Forced to Give Your Password?   veilith.com... · Posted by u/marcusfrex

Imagine a briefcase where different keys open different compartments. One key might show your grocery list, another shows your real important documents. If someone forces you to open it, you can give them a "fake" key that shows harmless stuff.

This is called "deniable encryption" - you can honestly say "there's nothing important here" when using the decoy password.

And it is impossible to understand whether any one of the compartment is a random content or an encrypted one.

I feel like this answer only explains the concept and not how it _actually_ works.

Is it an app? Is it a framework? How would it be used when one is being forced to open up their phone, does it only work within the app itself, or would it boot the phone into an alternate partition? Etc etc...

Also the website is full of AI generated images, buzzwords, and little to no substance.

Explain how someone with a bad media diet can have a good vote.

Explain who decides what a good media diet is.

This was decided by a Brazilian Supreme Federal Court justice, not Lula da Silva. In fact, the justice was appointed in 2017. Also, the court upheld his decision 2 days ago. Your comment is disingenuous and making this a liberal vs conservative issue when it's actually about X not respecting Brazilian law.

Easy now. I'm only speculating on optics here.

Here it is how it looks like if you try to visit an account of a cult member and political rival of Erdogan from Turkey(the cult used to be ally of Erdogan, then turned against him. Now they publish sometimes credible and other times dubious corruption documents and allegations from exile): https://dropover.cloud/755d93

Also, Twitter has legal representation in Turkey and people are routinely detained, imprisoned or made pay fines for their tweets in Turkey. The country also ranked very poorly on any freedom or democracy index, political figures are routinely held in prison. Erdogan government often dismisses orders from the Turkish constitution court, if you think that Musk is into constitution - it doesn’t add up.

AFAIK Twitter is also blocked in China and Russia.

What is the fuss around Brazil? Why this is not just another day with business as usual?

I guess the fuss is about Bolsonaro being depicted as a dictator in the media and as soon as Lula da Silva takes over, authoritarian measures such as these are pushed forward?

Project that contains (contained?) porn in the source tree https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium/pull/469 and I've heard the maintainer also promotes some quite reprehensible stuff. So I can't support it.

Native would be great, but for my use case the Tab Center Reborn extension for Firefox is the best implementation of vertical tabs I've used on any browser, native or otherwise. There's other extensions like Sidebery and Tree Style Tabs, but I haven't really tried them.

So you think TCR is the best one, but you haven't really tried the other ones? How can you know?

The first sentence of the wikipedia entry is literally "Graham Bruce Hancock (born 2 August 1950) is a British writer who promotes pseudoscientific[2][3] theories involving many ancient civilizations and lost lands."

Well, if it says so on Wikipedia it must be true.

> We asked ChatGPT to create a portfolio of stocks from high-quality businesses with criteria taken from the leading 10 funds it is competing against. These include things like low levels of debt, sustained growth in the past and assets that generate an advantage of competitors.

This sounds like a bad idea given the knowledge cutoff date, unless you also feed it the relevant data. But would that fit in the prompt?

2malaq · 2 years ago
It's easy to feed current relevant data to ChatGPT.
