There are 257 open positions with titles that lead with "Senior" {Scientist|Engineer|Manager}. That seems extreme. Does no element of the organization develop from within?
masonic · 4 years ago
Maybe this is why they are looking for five Retention Managers... one a Senior...

Do you hire people anywhere in the world? I'm in India and would love to apply.
platzhirsch · 4 years ago
Only where we are incorporated. Watch out for any job positions with location in India.
Winterflow3r · 4 years ago
Hey! Is there a full list of EU countries you are incorporated in? Looking through Greenhouse, I can see at least Ireland and the Netherlands but wondering if there are others. Thanks in advance!
platzhirsch · 4 years ago
I am not sure, but there is Germany and Belgium too.

Would you hire senior engineers who don't have much experience directly with your stack but are interested in jumping ship?
platzhirsch · 4 years ago
Yes, the technical stack does not matter as much as the concepts they embody. We believe everything can be learnt but depending on the roles there are skills like system design, distributed system, etc that should apply independent of the technology.
addy13 · 4 years ago
Are these locations you have offices? I live in Amsterdam but require a work visa and would love to continue working from here.
platzhirsch · 4 years ago
At least we are incorporated there. I cannot promise anything regarding visa-related questions but I would assume a visa transfer should be doable. Let me know if you want to chat about this.
moneywoes · 4 years ago
Seems there's only senior or staff roles :/
platzhirsch · 4 years ago
Sometimes there is room to also hire non-senior folk or the job posting for it is still missing. You can always find it a try.

Terrastruct | Software Engineer | SF, Remote ok for senior (US) | Full-time | $120-$200K base | 0.2-2% equity

Terrastruct (https://terrastruct.com/) is a diagramming tool for software architecture. Drawing software diagrams on a general-purpose tool like LucidChart or Draw.io feels like coding on Google Docs. It has a lot of the features I don't care about and lacks ones I wish existed. So, I built one for my needs. It focuses on things that software engineers care about, like managing complexity, autolayout algorithms that actually mimic how humans draw diagrams (not squigly lines flying everywhere), and integrations with tools like Github and AWS.

I've been working on it since 2017 as a side project at Stripe, and quit to do it full time at the end of 2019. Been working on it every day since, and now we've recently raised a Seed round, and are looking for our 4th engineer. Would love to hear from you, especially if you also think the visual documentation space is in dire need of a better tool.

Refreshing job posting and the interview process. You're going for human, and it comes through. Would love to read a reflection on how this worked out a couple of years after. Keep it up!

Unsupervised | Software Engineers | Full-time | US Remote or Boulder, Colorado

Unsupervised is an AI driven data analysis company. We run an unsupervised learning engine we built in-house to do a lot of analysis on customer data. The value (according to customers) is the insights we find that help them take action in their organization to move the needle on their metrics, things that matter to them and their goals.

We're hiring software engineers to work on our core compute engine and web interface. In the web app we use React and Graphql via apollo-server and TypeScript server-side, speaking to GRPC services we write in Go and Rust. In the compute engine, we're largely Python and C++. You don't need to know those coming in as long as you can learn it fast enough. On the compute side, Dask and Ray experience is a plus. You definitely need to know data structures and graphs enough to talk shop about them. We deploy on Kubernetes in a cloud native modern dev workflow, but we'll happily train what you need to know there, we've got decent tooling in place to make it very approachable and iterative.

Auxon | Senior Software Engineer | Full-Time | Remote (US & Canada) | https://www.auxon.io/jobs

Auxon is changing the way highly-automated cyber-physical systems are tested, verified, and validated. Through a combination of distributed-tracing, chaos engineering, and empirical verification we're shining bright lights on the weaknesses and vulnerabilities which cause robots to misbehave.

We're a growing Portland, OR based startup, looking for an exceptional Software Engineer with an end-user focus and opinionated hot takes on what makes for excellent testing & debugging experience (e.g. data visualization, CLIs, and TUIs). Ideal candidates love the idea of joining a small, dedicated senior team where correctness and quality matters.

Our stack is primarily Rust (both `std` and `no_std`). Professional Rust experience isn't a prerequisite, but we've found that being into something a little weird is helpful (e.g. your teammates draw from backgrounds in embedded C, Erlang, and Clojure).

Fully remote, early-employee stock options, excellent benefits (100% subsidized medical, dental, & vision coverage for you + dependents), and a highly collaborative work environment.

Tangram | Rust Programmer | Remote USA

Tangram makes it easy for programmers to train, deploy, and monitor machine learning models. With Tangram, programmers can train models and make predictions on the command line or with libraries for languages including Elixir, Go, JS, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Rust, and learn about their models and monitor them in production from a web application.

Tangram is open source and everything is written in Rust, from the core machine learning algorithms to the web application.

We are looking for strong Rust programmers who love the Rust programming language and either have machine learning experience or are interested in learning machine learning.

Here are some projects you might work on: * Design and implement the SDK for training a machine learning model in Tangram's language libraries. * Add support for A/B testing multiple versions of a machine learning model. * Add support for training new model types including time series forecasting. * Add automated alerting for statistical data drift detection by implementing Chi-Square or Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests.

Tangram is founded by former MIT, Facebook and Slack engineers. We recently raised a seed round from Kleiner Perkins and our angel investors include the creator of NextJS, the founder of GitHub, and the CEO of Slack.

We are looking to grow our current team of 3 to 6 in the next couple of months and are open to programmers working remotely from anywhere in the US.
