Ghost is a full stack web application that's used by millions of creators, startups and businesses to run their independent publications. It's also one of the most popular modern open source projects in the world.

We’re a small, talented team from a wide a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We value differences in our perspectives, and care about working in a way that feels balanced. We care a lot about what we do, but we don’t preach or take ourselves too seriously.

Ghost has been a fully distributed remote team since 2012, with team members located all over the world. We do remote work properly, providing freedom and flexibility that enables people to do their best work. We believe deeply in building something lasting, sustainable and positive, and we enjoy having interesting and challenging problems to work on.

Hiring process: no bs whiteboarding interviews. We'll have a couple of casual chats to assess mutual value-fit and tech background/experience, followed by a paid trial project to see how we work together.

We're building the world's first real-time map using a network of cameras aboard 120,000 daily commercial flights. Our approach lets us gather thousands of times more earth observation data at a fraction of the operational cost of building, launching, and maintaining satellites. Our competitors (Maxar, Planet, Airbus) advertise daily updates; we've demonstrated 1,430 updates on a single coordinate in early tests using just a cell phone camera.

We've recently filed 6 patents related to the core sensing methods and will be filing 6 more in Q3. We have a 3-member advisory team consisting of a retired Air Force Lt. General, CTO of a Bay-Area tech company, and the former CEO of MetroCall. I'm a technical founder looking to bring on a co-founder who can assist me with building the mobile application that handles in-flight sensing. We currently have 450 customer commitments running on a negligible burn rate and are in the process of raising our seed round.

My group at Foundation Medicine transforms data into products that drive cancer research. This provides a real impact improving and extending lives of patients everywhere. I have software engineering roles open across a few levels.

You should have a love of automation: processes, testing, operation, everything. We’re focused around a mix of Python and Java, with a handful of other things thrown in.
